Modern technology has stepped forward and today gadgets are used not only as independent devices, but also in connection with each other. Often users are interested in connecting the Vivo phone to the TV, because this procedure opens up new opportunities and can be useful in a variety of situations. It is about it that we will talk in the article.
Why make the connection?
Modern gadgets are full-fledged multimedia devices. Vivo smartphones do not require synchronization with home technology, but the developers have not excluded this possibility.
Connecting devices opens access to a duplicate screen phone to the TV. And this feature, in turn, allows you to play games, sit on social networks and perform other activities on the big screen.
At the same time, synchronization of devices is necessary for:
- remote control of the TV via a smartphone;
- listening to music through the TV speakers;
- to view files in the memory of the mobile gadget.
It is important to note the possibility of connecting smartphones to televisions without Smart TV. With the former you can view, for example, videos from YouTube and other pages on a large screen.
This activity is to the liking of most users who believe in progress and are ready to gradually erase the boundaries in the direction of innovation.
How to connect your Vivo phone to the TV
In order to connect your Vivo to your TV, you do not need to have special knowledge or special expensive devices. Today, there are current wired and wireless synchronization methods that are suitable for both more advanced and somewhat outdated plasma TVs.
Using a USB cable
Any model with Funtouch OS 5 and higher is able to connect to the TV via a USB cable. This method, although not the most modern, is one of the easiest. The cable is present in the box with the smartphone as an accessory, so you do not need to buy it separately.
To connect the phone to the TV (in this example it will be LG) will need to perform a number of steps:
- Insert one end of the cord into the smartphone and the other end into the TV.
- Open the menu on the TV using the regular remote control.
- Wait until the menu with new devices appears, or go to the list of connections.
- Select the USB port you want to use.
- On the smartphone, confirm the connection (If a request has been sent).
Broadcast screen over Wi-Fi (SmartTV only)
An advanced way to connect devices is via Wi-Fi. No wires are required here: only the wireless Internet and the corresponding function on the TV.
To duplicate the screen from your Vivo to your TV without wires, you need:
- Activate Wi-Fi on both devices and connect them to the same network.
- Go to the smartphone settings and open the item "Other networks and connections".
- Click on "Smart Mirroring".
- Now you need to enter the screen duplication menu.
- Click "Search for devices", wait until the process is completed and select the desired TV to connect.
- On the TV (in my case it is LG SmartTV) will pop up a request to connect, confirm it.
The described method replaces the use of Wi-Fi Direct, which was relevant only a few years ago. It will take a few minutes to synchronize, because the search is quite fast if the wireless Internet distribution point is close to both devices.

Via HDMI (MHL)
The second method of connection via wire is considered more complex, but also provides expanded functionality. In the previous case, the user received only a set of basic features, but here already includes a broadcast of the phone screen on the TV. This option is more convenient than the previous one, because all the wallpaper, icons and other elements are displayed in the same visual design.
Of the disadvantages of the method it is worth noting the lack of HDMI cable included with the phone, as well as the most important - the corresponding port. Therefore, to connect, the user will have to buy not only the cord itself, but also an adapter. For HDMI SlimPort or MHL adapter will do.
It is important to note that the Vivo model used must support MHL technology. You can check this via a separate MHL Cheker app on Google Play.
The connection procedure is as follows:
- Insert the adapter plug into the smartphone.
- Connect the HDMI cord to the corresponding connectors on the adapter and the TV receiver.
- Go to the TV settings.
- Open the list of available connections.
- Select the desired HDMI connector.
This method is suitable for connecting the phone to any TV: Xiaomi, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and others. Immediately after performing all the above steps, the desktop of the Vivo device will be displayed on the TV screen. Further, all of the user's clicks and swipes on the smartphone display will be exactly repeated on the TV.
Via DLNA
When talking about how to connect Vivo to the TV, it is advisable to touch the topic of DLNA. This function allows you to play multimedia files from your phone in the local network. You can read more about it at Wikipedia.
To get the desired result, you will have to perform the following steps:
- Go to "Settings" - "Smart Mirroring".
- Go to the settings of this section and select "DLNA" and then "Local Media File Sharing".
On some smartphones, the path is slightly different: "Settings" - "Advanced Settings" - "DLNA".
- Connect devices to the same Wi-Fi.
- Click "Share Folder" or "Share File Types" and select the TV name from the list.
- Find the desired phone model through the TV and connect to it to access common multimedia items.
Connection according to this scheme is possible for Samsung, Xiaomi and other manufacturers' TVs. The brand of the equipment does not matter at all, because the main role here is played by the technical characteristics and equipment.
FAQ
It is possible to connect an ordinary smartphone to the TV in different ways. Although there are not many actual options left today, absolutely anyone can use them. The joint work of two modern devices really removes many boundaries for the user, and therefore it is necessary to establish a connection between them for each owner of Vivo, following the instructions from our article.
The problem may be a platform compatibility issue. Try also enabling WiFi and Bluetooth for a more stable connection.
